This is in response to a guy who made a post earlier about the 90A alternator. you just swapped yours at a automotive store for the 90A and it plugged right in? I don't have any fabrication skills so i've been looking for an upgrade like this that wouldn't kill my wallet. so is this as easy as you say it is or what?

Yea it was easy!!!
The only thing I had to do was nudge the bushing foward in the top mounting bracket some.
Soak it with WD-40 and take a flat piece of steel to place flat on the bushing and tap on it to push the bushing foward, (in the direction of the fan), within the top alternator bracket mount.
You may have to work with it some but, it can be done without any trouble. I did NOT have to take the bracket off the truck.
The alternator will fit. You just have to work with it some.
Part # 13407.
Simple bolt on.

OK... I don't see an earlier thread about replacing an alternator, so how about some details? Price for the alternator, year of the 4Runner, etc.... I do remember a post from a while back... maybe a month ago or so (guessing here???) about replacing an alternator with a higher output version on a second gen rig. Is that the thread you are talking about?
