I tried to do my own mod to my fog lights so they would work with the parking lights. I connected a wire from the fog fuse to the tail light fuse hoping to have the same result as the other mod. Well I think i heard something fry inside near the inside fuse box. I hooked everything back up like it was but now my lights are sketchy and flicker on and off depending on how much pressure is on the light switch. The tails and parking lights no longer work. My instrument panel also flickers on and off with the head lights.

Even better, I think my dumbass hooked it up to the tail relay and not the fuse itself. I hooked it to the 4 prong thing labeled tail in the fuse box under the hood.

Sounds like you were pulling way to much current through soemthing you hooked it up too and more than likely now have fried/melted some wires under the dash or the fusebox area, I would say you will need to look for burnt wires maybe something is now shorting to ground after the insulation melted off.

Well, hope this helps, 'cause I have a 2nd gen. But, on our '98 Maxima, I modified it so the fogs could be on any time the engine was running, instead of only low beams. I found the fog relay in the engine compartment, then found the wire that had 12V with the headlights on, clipped that, and hooked it to the 12V wire that went to the rear defog, which only comes on when the key is "on", before clipping or splicing, I verified this with a DMM.

Hmmm.. Ditto on the fried wires.. Did you see lots of white smoke? If you fried the insulation off the wires more than likely there would be TONS of white smoke coming out from somewhere.. I fried the wire putting a new switch into my wig wag system and fried about 2 feet of wire.. for all the smoke i saw though you would have thought i lit the truck on fire! Good luck man I hope it works out.
