Ok, I'm sick of searching, I can never find a straight answer. I'm going to be purchasing a RB body lift and a set of Cooper stt's within the next few months. I want to fit 33's for right now on the stock 16" Limited wheels. First, what is the widest tire I can fit? Can I fit 285/75R16 on the stock 16's? Second, I'm going with the body lift right now, planning on the SS#7 down the road, when I get the $$. Should I go with a 1" or 2" body lift? I don't want to have to worry about rubbing. yes you can fit 285s on your 16s. 2" body lift would be necessary to clear 285s without any suspension lift, plus...if you're going through the trouble to do a body lift you might as well do a 2 anyways, it'll look better

 

Another tire option is 255/85/16. They are 33.3" tall by 10" wide. They'll fit on a stock wheel, and have no issues with rubbing on the upper control arm like some have with 285's. Either way you'll need to do some trimming to fit with a 2" body lift, mainly in the pinch weld area.

 

Tire sizing has always confused the hell outta me! So how wide and tall is a 285/75?

 

Depends on the tire. A BFG MT is 33.1" high and 11.3" wide. Some are as high as 33.5" and as small as 32.5." Width depends alot on rims size...most 285's are measured on 8" rims.
