need mods bad!

Ok I just cleaned my truck top to bottom and I noticed something....no MODS.

I have a 2000 4runner limited with 40,000 miles and I need to start ˟˟˟˟˟˟ with it. Money is no real object and I want to do most of the work myself. I got a DUI about 4 months ago and cant drive legally for 8 more months. So when I get my full license back I want my runner to be nemo specific.

So my question is how should I start, any good idears? I am looking to make it look tough, I already have BF goodrich KOs and they are a decent start but I need more. If you could list potential mods and brand names for the mods it would be real helpfull.

I know you guys are the best so I thought id get you opinions first.
thanks in advance.

Well there are many a way to make a truck look tough but I like the tough yet classy aproach.
1. Lift It!
2. Tires and Wheels (IMO 17" with 33" BFG AT or MT) I went with 16" but wish I had 17"
3. Tint the windows
4. In dash DVD player PS2 and GPS
5. Lights, both front and rear
6. ARB bumber or Grill guard, if that is your thing
7. Winch?

Oh yeah! Look at the tech write-ups and pick from there too. I have done many mods from there. Deck plate and amsoil filter, locker mod, etc. Do what you think would look good!

lift
33's
tjm/arb bumper
snorkel
locker
rear bumper
Thule/Yakima roof rack with lights mounted
sliders

Then you'll look pretty tough and have a very tough rig

Do you plan to do any offroading in your 4runner? If so, look into some good lift (coilover/shock and coil combo/spacers).

Depending on how much offroading you plan to do will determine what kind of suspension setup you want. If you're not planning to do much and plan to keep it 99% pavement action then I'd suggest some spacers so you can atleast get some beefier tires so it will look nice. If you plan to do some offroading then try the shock/coil combo. For the ultimate stuff, go with the coilovers. Ofcourse that's the most expensive.

Other things to consider:
Sliders - if you offroad
ARB/TJM Front steel bumper - if you offroad
Winch to go w/ the bumper
Upper A Arm (aftermarket)
and other suspension specific stuff.... Lots here (custom ones too)

More common mods:
Rear Differential Breather Mod - regardless if you offroad or not, it doesn't hurt to have it
Tinting windows
CB - if ya want to chat w/ others
Audio - looks like you have some stuff already setup!
Aftermarket foglights? More light is always good!

So, give us a direction on how you plan to use it and I'm sure we'll be able to give ya a pretty good direction on what will be cool and what will be useless

I like to go camping in the appalacian(sp?) trail almost evry weekend I get....some good trails but nothing that ive noticed I dont have clearance for. A medium amount of on road..i work at home and dont have to commute. I would like to start doing some serious off-roading because I can get somebody else to drive out to the trail and I can take over when we get there. I go skiing for 1 month every winter so I would like it to be snow savy and I tow a pop-up camper when I go camping sometimes.

I really like brush guards but I dont see the purpose if you cant attach a winch to them and I do like a little bling, the windows are already tinted and the stereo is done as far as im concerned.

I really like the CB idea but never used one before...whats fun about them?

I guy I know who does lifts on american trucks says that lifting a runner makes the ride really suffer. I see almost all of you guys do it so I think he must not know what he is talking about.

I'd like to add lights too....what brand and how should they be mounted?

A good roof rack looks diesel and I would love one but again im not sure where to get a good one.

well, I think thats it
