Not much of a difference. The sidewall height is slightly higher, section width is less than 1/2" wider and the tire is approx 1/2" taller.

I wouldn't mind going to a slightly larger tire when it's time to change but
since I don't rotate using my spare I wouldn't want to toss out an unused
tire.

Would it be a problem running 275/70 16's and having a 265/70 16 as a
spare? I'm thinking my truck has something to check for different size
tires but I'm not sure what it will do if it detects different size tires
in use. I would obviously only use the spare to drive to get the bad
tire fixed.
