need FSM for 98 tacoma

I have looked through the posts about the Factory Service Manuals. I'm trying to find the FSM for 98 tacoma 3RZ, but the closest I see is a link for the 1996 manual. Will this one cover my truck also? I know those years are similar but just want to be sure. Thanks again for your help.

I think the only significant change between 96 and 98 is the ignition. 96 has a distributor, 98 does not. There are likely numerous small changes in the wiring harness.

96-98 there were lots of significant changes. Interior, exterior, wiring, ignition, etc etc etc.

It all depends what you need the book for. If you are trying to do an engine swap into an earlier vehicle (2nd gen 4Runner or truck) you need the correct year book. Wire colors are different, etc etc.

At this point its only for mechanical upkeep and repairs. I have downloaded the 96 FSM. If I needed to buy one, where is a could source, either for a hardcopy or for a digital version?

I got mine on Ebay. Not sure about 98, but for 99, there are two separate paper manuals. Neither one included wiring diagrams !
