Are you kidding? What happened? What can I do if the high bidder doesn't pay up, which I'm hoping definitely doesn't happen. What will be my options? Do I have any at all? I would be so pissed!

Nothing really much I could do..., I also had it on private auction (this was a car) and they refused to respond to my emails at all, I sent them a non-paying warning through ebay and nothing. I eventually had to give them negative feedback and forget about it. I ended up not relisting it and sold it locally.

Wish you all the luck!!

ah...
I see you got your introduction to the last minute bidders that pop up from time to time.
A VERY good strategy to have as a buyer... that way you never overextend how far you're willing to go and sometimes you can beat out the other person before they have a chance to respond.

I'm sure it'll work out for you... there aren't TOO many deadbeat bidders out there. Especially for an item like this.

Make sure to report them to ebay's fraud unit.
You also got your money back from listing I hope.
Always sucks when bidders don't pay.....happens much more on big items too.

Yea I reported them, and got my money back, your right I will not recommend selling a large item (car) on ebay and I most definetly will not do it again, just too many problems/concerns/etc.

Thanks again for all the help and support on what ended up working out okay. I still haven't heard anything from the high bidder, but I'm not worried yet. I gave him 3 days to come up with the payment, which I thought was fair.

Chris-
I don't know how to say this, so I'm just going to come out here on yotatech and say it in front of everyone to read.

I am the high bidder on your auction, I was feeling bad for you worrying about not getting enough for your stuff so I bid it up to the amount you wanted, hoping someone would outbid me, and everything would be fine. And in the end you would have what you thought you deserved for your supercharger system. And everyone would be happy.

unfortunetly I don't have the funds to cover this purchase, I'll pay your seller fees, and help you relist the stuff in any way that I can. I'm sorry it turned out like this, but you have to understand I did it with only the best of intentions. Heres one on me bud

I'm just ˟˟˟˟tin ya!!! welcome to EBay.

Not yet unfortunately! I knew he was around right up until the bidding ended, but after that I've heard nothing. I'm getting worried, to say the least. Anyone have any recommendations on what I should do? I had a clause stating that I would allow 3 days for the high bidder to pay, so I'm hoping I hear something really soon. If not, what should I do, because the second highest bidder already emailed me to let me know that he's still interested, which is a nice fall back plan, but this is really beginning to suck!

If after the 3 days, go with the next high bidder, then file a deadbeat bidder, so you can get your seller fees back. Sell to the next high bidder, but not through eBay, save those fees.....

Post the guys ebay ID and we can give you a good idea if he will pay up or not.
The feedback will tell you pretty much if your gonna have a problem or not.

Give him at least a week to pay (even if you told him 3).
Some people just don't read when they bid.

i wouldnt stress yet, i always give 7 days to pay. after 3 days you can send him the payment reminder, that starts the clock for the 10 day waiting period to file the dead beat bidder action, and you will get a full refund. just a heads up in case.....
