All at freeway speeds and over the pass. Don't have any pics of my wheeling rig on the trailer but you get the idea..

First off forget all those silly intake mods and throttle body spacers, those are all useless mods they sell to teenagers who watched the fast and the furious too much.

I think your simply asking too much from your little V6 truck. An empty car hauler on average is 3000 lbs. If i remember correctly the last time i weighed my 01 taco it was 3,600 lbs empty with half tank of gas. So your basically pulling another one of your truck, it will do it just not very fast and why the hell are you even trying to tow at 70?? You dont have the tires, brakes, suspension, or weight to be pulling at the speed somewhat safely. You dont have a 1 ton truck.

If you want more power you have to look to forced induction either a bolt trd supercharger or fab up a custom turbo set up....... but niether of these means you should tow at 70+

 

Something is not right with your truck. Compression first then maybe check condition of you exhaust. The "it just a little v6" crowd I disagree with. My little v6 was packed to the gills and had a uhaul with a 4wheeler and tools, paintball gear, ect. Basically everything I own crosscountry from louisiana to oregon with no problem. I was doing freeway plus speeds, overdrive off of course, and it barely slowed done going up mountain ranges.

 

I agree. If this was a 3.0, I can entertain the idea of it not having enough power to tow. But the 3.4 has plenty of power.

 

get a wet NO2 kit,that should do the trick. ohh and fix your truck.

I just changed the head on my 4 cyl and it comes up the mountain at 65 mph instead of 45 max when the compression was down
