More power for '88 3.0

I have a 1988 4Runner with 272K miles. The engine runs ok but is losing power.

What is the most cost effective way to juice it up?

Thanks for any and all suggestions!
Michael

losing power as in its not as fast as you thought it used to be? or jsut showing age... thats a lot of miles, get a rebuild with some high performance stuff and call it good
