Mod Day is here!

O.K. Guys,

I have a new, to me, 1999 4runner 2wd v6 SR5 that I purchased about three weeks ago and I plan on spending all day tomorrow doing all the little mods I have reading about here on the forums. So far I am going to do the ISR mod, the elbow mod, the deckplate mod, changing my throttle body gasket to the "O" gasket if necassary and possibly retrofit a lighted ignition from the limited.

While I am at it what else should I do?? any other other cheap less than 1 day things I can do while I am at it? I was thinking about cleaning my MAS but I can't find a detailed write up with pics for the 99 3.4

How about tinting the front windows (at a shop), if they are not already tinted.....

mycotopian,

if you're doing the deckplate, skip the elbow mod. it won't improve performance.

other mods to consider:

- cleaning your engine bay (engine cleaner and/or simple green and finish w/ CD2)
- adding an aux fuse box for future 12v powered mods (http://www.4runners.org/articles/dist)
- adding another 12v cig lighter (http://www.4runners.org/articles/12v)

How about add/order an Amsoil air filter? What about picking up a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher?

This isn't really a mod but you might want to clean your TB.

After reading this I went out and cleaned my maf w/ some non residue electrical contact cleaner. All went well until I droped both my screwdriver ratchet attatchment and the ratchet part that fits the maf bolts after I had it all taken off. That sucked. Don't know if it helped anything yet though. TB will be tommorrow I guess.

I highly recommend putting lights in the footwells. Invaluable if you ever drop anything at night. Only takes a couple hours or so.

After a driving a while I have concluded that it was indeed worthwhile. Good times.
