Mixing with Toyota ATF

My 2001 still has the factory ATF in the power steering system. No leaks etc. but I like the idea of syphoning out of the reservoir every few days and topping with new ATF.....instead of flushing, pulling lines etc. Question is would mixing say Valvoline Dexron III with Toyota ATF be bad medicine ?

You do that every couple days???? Wowzers. In all honestly I dont know the answer but I think it would be fine. My last truck I mixed different fluids and never had a problem.

Toyota ATF is not expensive. Any reason you don't want to use it?

I'm thinking most late model Toyotas are going to use it, since my '88 calls for Dexron II. (that was before Dexron III's time)

I have stayed with Toyota ATF for the transmission ....so now that I think about it .... might as well with the PS system also.
