Meep Meep!!!

MEEP MEEP!!! what the crap was that? was it the roadrunner escaping wyle e. coyote or was it a toyota honking it's horn!?!?! has anyone else noticed how crappy toyota horns are? i've owned a lot of toyotas, and every single one has had a crappy horn. sounds a lot like the roadrunner. has anyone done something to fix it or change it to a better sounding one? i think it'd be sweet to get a semi-truck horn in there. that'd be cool.

search search search. There are a LOT of horn threads on the board.

A lot of folks have gone with Fiamm's and are happy, other folks have gone with a full blown air-horn rigs from semi's and such. This is my install:

Many of us have swapped out the stock horns for aftermarket ones.
A search on the forum will yield numerous hits on it.

I use to have an article up on how I did mine, but I can not find it right now.
I don't think I ever had it in the Tech section here.

I am using Fiamm Highway Blaster horns which have a low & high pitch when in pairs.
I had to wire them up using a relay though to get them to work.
They are quite loud.

PS...
I did have it on here.

The horn on my 2001 sounds like a Cadi. I had an 89 that was aweful so I cleaned the conectors and that made a difference it went from meep meep to beep beep.

I started this thread, inspired by Corey's success with his horn swap.
CLICK HERE to go to a great discussion on what to do about the wussy horns that came with the yotas, and how to fix them.

Has anyone swapped out horns from other Toyotas? My truck has the weak horn, but my 84 Camry is much louder. If I had that horn in my truck, I would be happy. I'm assuming it would be an easy swap since it is a Toyota horn.

If my car ever gives up the ghost, I may take the horn out and put it in my truck, but I think its going to outlive me.
