Manik Nerfs for 02 4Runner Source?

A quick intro for my first post, then a question. I'm the former TTORA TN Chapter President. At one time I was heavy into 4 wheeling and had a highly modified 97 Tacoma, then a 99 TRD Tacoma. I've since moved on from that hobby, and now own a 2002 4Runner SR5 that I've had for a few years and love it.

I have no intention of off roading anymore as I went back to motorcycles after a 5 year hiatus (sport bikes). I've paid the 4Runner off and am looking to make it a little more sporty. Noli recommended this forum to me in a post over on T4.ORG.

I'd like to replace the stock running boards with some nerf bars. I'm well aware of the benefits to sliders as we used to use Demello's, but that's just too industrial of a look for what I'm trying to achieve. I'd really like a set of Manik bars in chrome, but it seems Manik has discontinued making these for the 99-02 model.

I've found the ones offered by Toyota on the 02 sport models (http://www.internetautoguide.com/re...2002/index.html) for $400 at the dealer. They're still available and made by DeeZee, but I wanted to see what else was available before plopping down cash at the stealer.

Does anyone know of a source to still get the 02 Manik nerfs?

At any rate, I need to transform this thing from conservative grocery getter to a more sporty vehicle.

Why not go with Westin Nerf Bars? Some of the highest quality stuff out there. Decently priced, to get an idea on a baseling check out stylinconcepts.com, of course shop around, but Westin is a good source for these bars.

I have these on my 2002 4runner and have been happy with them. Cannot beat the price either. Their customer service was good too.

That link says they're only in black? Got a source for SS/Chrome?

I don't see anything for 2002 4Runner from Westin? I'd like those Oval Tube steps they offer though if they'd fit and weren't $400 for chrome.

The first link I saw, the second I had not. The first ones don't show end caps on the tubes and that worried me. Also I'd like some the tuck up close to the rocker panels. The Manki's are the best looking I've found, but of course they discontinued and I have only been able to find them in black thus far.

I have Manik but they are rusting out really bad and they aren't very old...

My Dad just bought me those side steps from motorimpact.com... I'd rather not have any but he said those were a really good price.

They have those Westin one on sportsmanguide.com I think thats the site. Its a hunting magazine my Dad gets. They were $179 + $40 shipping. They come in crome too. Or it said it did.

Thanks guys. I ended up going with the ones from Toyota that came as an option on the 2002 Sport Edition 4Runner. I got a pretty good price on them from North Ridge.

Picked up some Ivan Stewart TRD wheels as well. If those don't sport this thing up nothing will.

Pam,

What color are your Maniks? Are they in good shape such as scratches, dings, dents, rust, etc?

North Ridge is trying to locate the 2002 Sport tube steps, but she says they may not be able to get them.

Thanks in advance.

What'd you end up paying for the Ivan Stewarts if you don't mind?

I'm not sure I'm supposed to post their prices for them. Give Carie a call at Northridge and she'll give you a quote. I will tell ya they were about $200 cheaper for the set vs. what's quoted at Performance Products.

The Toyota tube steps are most definitely discontinued. Carie at Northridge called sevaral places trying to locate a set for me to no avail so I went with the black ones from www.motorimpact.com and have an appointment to have the Powder Coated a textured Titanium color at a local shop. Total for the steps and powder coating and shipping will be about $260 and I'll know they're factory durable or better.

I also got a set of the Hella factory fog lights from PP. The wheels and fog lights should be here tomorrow and I'll get that stuff installed this weekend.

I'll post pics once I get everything installed. Next is the sport edition hood. That'll pretty much do it.

Thanks but PP has them at list, which are way high. Ebay can get you better prices but since you've ordered, forget about it.

BTW, a brand-new set on Ebay was going for $700 not too long ago w/ buy it now. I think shipping was an extra $100 and this was from a Toyota dealer.

Yeah, I was emailing that seller back and forth and was ready to buy. He was even in TN close to where I'm located. However, when I got to talking to him the TRD lug nuts to go with the wheels weren't included and cost an add'l $100, add shipping to that, plus sales tax since I'm in TN and it ended up not being such a great deal after all.

Carie really hooked me up. Free shipping, lug nuts included, no sales tax, and a good price. My local dealer wanted even more that PP!!!!
