Major Oil Leak 98 Tacoma SRS 3.4l V6
Hi,
I went mudding the over day and suddenly my engine started leaking oil quickly, rougly 1litre per 5 minutes. It appeared to me like oil was leaking from the Valve cover gasket, so I went ahead and swapped out with new gaskets and grommets. But problem still continues, the oil filter is good, Oil Pump is good. Could it be my head gasket that is losing all this oil? My engine is running extremely rough as well.

Does your engine have a oil cooler ?? left side towards the back of the block.
How much oil did you need to add till you got home??
Just where is the oil ending up ??
Down the back of the engine all over the bottom of the truck??
front of engine all over the front differential and oil pan??

Yes has a oil cooler, from what I see though it appears to come from passenger side or back of block, above the oil pan.
the passanger side exhaust manifold even has oil all over it.. oil is literally all over, on the diff., oil pan.. all lower half of engine

Get a can of brake cleaner and get the engine as clean as possible, then start it up and see if it leaks while idling. Or drive it a short distance.
With oil everywhere, it's hard to spot where it's coming from.

Hopefully, you're driving something else in the meantime. Not trying to be smart, just cautious. 1 liter every 5 min is a lot. Gasket leaks are one thing and I think are slow leakers. But dripping like there's no tomorrow seems like there's a decent sized opening somewhere.

I bet you're leaking out of the sealing plug at the end of the cam on the back of the head where it meets the valve cover. I'll get you a pic of what I'm talking about in a minute.
