maf sensor part # for 2001 4runner

well, the wifes' 4runner threw a 0171 code.
i had the same problem in my 99 es300 a while back and i had the maf sensor replaced and solved the problem.

so i used my maf in her truck and no problems. so i need to see if the part # in my car is the same as hers

i searched and couldnt find it. i was also wondering if a cardone one from autozone/advanced auto would be an acceptable substitute instead of the toyota one, esp at 30-$50 cheaper

thanks

Try cleaning it with brake cleaner and reset the ECU by pulling the neg batt terminal.
If it comes back again, then replace.

i did clean it and the light came back on. she was having problems accelerating heavily and it felt like it was lagging. she still has my maf in her truck and no problems.

i have hers in my es300. i was calling a few dealers for the part. i was quoted 168-185. but we also have quite a few salvage yards in the area and can prob get one for like $30 or so, but if i had the part # i could search the part # on teh net

You're right, I stand corrected.
