I just looked at the 500's at a local Kragen for $79. The box was opened so I asked if I could take em out and inspect them. Honestly, they felt cheap to me. Like those $9.99 fog lights you can buy just about anywhere. They even said made in China right on the back. Not that everything made in China is crap, but it's usually not a sign of quality. Are all the models/brands like this? I dont want to spend $600 for aux lights but I want some quality.

I agree.. I have not held them in my hand..so I do not know how well they are made...I was judging them off of how many people here are useing them...if you do not go Hella 500 and you do not want to spend a whole lot of $$$ what lights are you looking at? I just know I need more light

Well, they are made of plastic, so they are light weight. But they area also slim and can be mounted in more places. Its a bit of a trade off. But I say they are a good light for the money.

Ordered mine off eBay for $60.00. Shipping was free. I used "Buy it now" and they were to my door THAT week and I installed them that weekend. Even if they didn't arrive by the weekend I can still wait if it means I'll save $20.00 or so. What can I say, i'm cheap......and poor.

I was a little disappointed in the quality at first. Not that there is anything wrong with them. I like them and they are good lights. I think it was the "Made in Mexico" that disappointed me. I was also scared I would break them when taking them apart to wire them up.

I have them on my brush guard with clear covers. They look good. I don't regret buying them at all.

Also, the wiring kit that comes with it was pretty good IMO. I ruined some of the clips that came with it though. Fortunately I had some extras at work where I installed them.

I used Corey's write-up on wiring the lights. Very handy.
