Looking for rebuilt 3.0L in Seattle area.

For my brother in law. His 4runner threw a rod.

Does anyone know of a place that will sell a quality rebuilt 3.0L in Seattle area? What about a reliable shop to do the swap? Any help is greatly appreciated. I am considering doing the job for him. Should not be a problem for me, but if we could find a shop to do it that might work better timewise for me.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I know exactly where you are speaking of. I'll try them. Thanks, Scott.

I have also found a guy out of Tacoma that sells 3.0L rebuilt for $1300. That seems pretty cheap. Anyone ever done business with this company? It's called: Northwest Japanese Motor. They offer 12,000 mile, 1 year warranty.

Called NIX99. That's the toyota wrecker you were talking about. He doesnt sell rebuilts, but he sells his used motors after doing a 2 hour test on them. He runs them and makes sure they dont blow nasty smoke and that they have good compression. They are $2200 to $2800 depending on milage. Seems a bit high for a used motor. On the other hand, he claims that this guy that sells used rebuilts for only $1300 must do an awful job.

Anyone else have any experience with replacing their 3.0L in Seattle area? I've been on the phone for the last couple hours researching pricing, warranty's etc.

I'm not trying to find the cheapest price necesarily, just want a quality rebuilt motor. Anybody?

This is not in your area but they will get it there. Best place I found and reasonable. # year/unlimited mileage warranty. I've read some good stuff on them but never tried them!!
