Lift Install on 3rd Gen Question.
I am looking at some different lift options for my 99 runner and think I have decided on some coilovers up front and downey or OME in the rear. My question is....do I need a coil compressor to install these? I think no but want to be sure. Any other tricks or pointers would be appreciated. Thanks!

It depends on what you do in the front. If you swap just the springs, then yes you will need a spring compressor, but if you install a complete unit like the SAWs you will not.
You do not need a spring compressor for the rear.

Rear springs - nothing to worry about. They'll practically drop out when you lower the rear axle a little.
The fronts unbolt out as an assembly. No problems there either. Thee dangerous part is when you have to compress the spring in order to take the assy. apart. Same goes for putting the new ones back together. Once they're together as a unit, they just bolt back in.
But like Gadget said, if you're installing SAW's, there's no need to take the old ones apart, the SAW's come ready to install. But if you're planning on something like OME or PP/Bilsteins, you'll need a spring compressor.
