Lift Help

Ok... so I have extended Donahoes and Camberg UCA sitting in the garage waiting to go on so now I just have to decide what to do in the rear. 1998 4runner 1" body lift.

I hate to say but I didn’t get out much to go offroading this past year. Hoping to do more in the new year though.

I cant decide between OME 890 or 901. Both cost the same.
With the 890's I would get 285/75/16 Nitto TG. Then I would possibly need wheel spacers or new wheels. Less gas mileage. Small loss in power.
With the 901's I would more then likely get 265/75/16 Nitto TG/ I wouldn't need new rims or spacers. Would 265/75 look small with 2" lift? I have worn out ones now on stock with only 1" body lift.

Second choice... go with OME shocks or spend a little more for Icon rear shocks.

So people who have these rear set-ups please say if you like it, what you would change, any suggestions, and any help.

I put bigger land cruiser springs in the rear, and did bilstein 6100 all round

lots of folks are running the 890s in the back and they are a good all around spring for our Runners.

The 891 will give you more lift-I run those and got 3" lift in back-but they are too stiff for most folks unless you are running 300 lbs in back on a routine and regular basis. I like em, but likely could have gotten by with 890s.

Read Sonoran Steel website. Wealth of info. Steve knows his 4Runner lifts, and a lot more. I believe he has said the 890s are the only Old Man Emu spring worth buying....

Could you post a pic of your 4runner if you still have 265-75-16 with the lift?

You can buy my FJ80 Landcruiser springs for $50 plus shipping and you're good to go.

Id run 285's with the lift you are describing.

I assume you mean 906 rear springs instead of 901's. I've been running my 906 rears for almost a year now, and I really like them. They may have a higher spring rate than the 890's though, which means they may be a little stiffer. They are perfect for occasional offroading and pulling a trailer here and there. Look at Gerdo's profile for pics of a 3" lift with 265/75/16's, and my profile (see sig line) for pics with the 906's and 265/75's. With a 1" body lift, 890's are going to make you really tall. If you go OME coils, I'd go with OME shocks as well. I just put N86C's on this week and it's a very good ride.
