I've searched, but posts are all about the smaller magnaflows. I've also checked out the exhaust sound comparison page and I've listened to the 5x8x24 one. Anyone here have a 5x11x22 or 5x8x24 magnaflow muffler installed? If yes, how do you like the sound of it? I am thinking of getting the largest one (5x11x22) but I don't want it sounding exactly like stock. How much louder would the 5x8x24 be as compared to the 5x11x22? I just want more of a characteristic tone - one that has a lower tone but is not much louder that stock. I'd like it to speak up under acceleration, but not drone at all at constant speeds.

Also, which muffler is a better fit for the 4Runner?

I have the 3.4L V6 in a 1997 4Runner.

 

I have the bigger SUV version Magnaflow... Not sure if it's the one you are talking about but I kept my resonator on and the thing is pretty quiet. You got to really give it some gas to hear it from inside.
