Well the keyless remote went through the washing machine. So I found one on ebay with the matching FCC ID number and found the programming instructions (for a 99 4Runner by the way). I can get through all the steps no problem and when it comes time to push the buttons on the remote, the locks cycle twice. I am assuming that the vehicle can see the remote since it is cycling the locks but I cannot get the vehicle to accept the remote. Is this an issue with the remote or vehicle? I tried the old remote just to make sure and there is no vehicle response with the old remote. Any suggestions or experinces appreciated.

 

Maybe disconnect the battery and try again? You did have the key out when you tried to check it didnt you? I've had that before.
