my keyless entry all of the sudden locks all doors when engine is started. this is new, never did this for last 10 years. also randomly relocks itself as soon as I unlock from time to time. Any one else have issues like this ??

 

What if any kind of work have you done??

I know my 2000 Tacoma does the relocking thing just can`t recall but it is normal

I don`t know about the keyless entry but is it not supposed to lock the doors when the vehicle starts??

 

Yup.....happens to me all the time. My 99 runner locks itself after i unlock it with the fob. Then its ok for a while. Then it starts doing it again.
The only help i've ever received after posting the problem was that it was pretty much impossible.

Faulty fob ? I'll go back to key entry before paying 80.00 for a new one !!

Ps......always have a handy spare key ready to deploy ! Ha ha....sooner or later you'll lock your keys in the car!

 

It may be coincidence but I just had the same issue, all of a sudden my alternator failed, I replaced alternator and battery, never happened again, I dunno.

Sounds like you have a short somewhere.

Our trucks use a ground(-) trigger to lock/unlock the doors. I'd check around the relays behind the driver door speaker for a short and then each door.

FWIW My truck auto locks once started, and if a door is open then it won't (obviously) but will lock again when I go into gear. It also auto unlocks once the truck is turned off.

I do not know what "keyless" system was in the truck from the PO but its mounted under my drivers seat.
