K & N Filtercharger

Does anyone have this installed on a 3rd gen that can send/post a pic? I think mine must be wrong because the filter keeps slipping off of the intake. I :pat: can't really tell from K&N's instructions.
Thanks!

Well, we need more info on the "filtercharger" as you say. It sounds to me as though you got a cone filter to replace your airbox. I will be first to say that you can make more power with the stock airbox. You will make more power if you get a drop in flat filter and cut a hole in your airbox than you will with the cone. It will also protect your intake better. I don't know if you off-road any or not but if you do then you will definately want to put in a deckplate so you can cover the hole. If you don't take your truck off road much you can cut any-ol hole you want in the front side of the airbox and voala. Then, there has always been a K&N group and an Amsoil group. I personally am in the Amsoil group because I think the amsoil has better dirt protection and quite simply, its a lot thicker than the K&N. Yeah, It might not make quite as much power in the end, but I'd much rather have a running engine than a faster one with dirt in it. This being said, my truck has been in VERY dusty conditions and will probably be there again, so for me. I'm staying with Amsoil.

If you don't want to go the airbox wroute, just go and ask for the one size smaller cone. If that doesn't work try a bigger/stronger clamp.

ps, there are writeups in the Tech section of yotatech on doing the deckplate mod and some others that you might be interested in doing so check it out. (its on the start page)

WOW! Another Wyomingite! I am hoping to lift my 2000 runner soon.
I have no problem with my K&N. I will send a photo to my site and attach it here. I have the 3.4 V6.
