Toyota should have done that from the beginning

I hear that...

If they'd put decent tunes in the 4R, we wouldn't have to go to all the trouble. I had a 2000 Maxima SE with the Bose system from the factory - super clean and would make your ears bleed. The JGC I just got has an Infinity System. It's no slouch either. It will be getting a boost at some point since I'm buying not leasing it. My middle name should have been "can't leave well enough alone". Oh, wait a minute - that's most of the members here.

I'll have pics of my newest interior mod soon......for some unknown reason i decided to take on the huge task of completely renovating the dash in my 2ndgen. More details to follow......basic idea is to move the radio to the top of the dash, eliminate most of the heater controls and make room for digital voltage and amperage displays, as well as my processor control display and possibly a screen, but the screen is still a dream.....pics coming soon!

that's not a CB, it's an equalizer. i've never seen anyone mount a CB under their stereo, but i guess it could be done provided it was the right dimensions.

i mounted my cb in the map hole , where that guys eq is , i purposly bought a small one and had to cut a hole i nthe back of the map pocket , forthe wires , it does stick out about one inch or so , but its a nice tight fit , and i can hear it with out a secondary speaker hooked up to it . ,

let me know if youd like a pic or the model number of the cb .

and if you dont like the instal lyou can pick up new map pockets on ebay cheap .

so no huge loss.

i need a new map pocket for mine because i cut a bit too much off it when i installed a different stereo , but went back to my pioneer because it fit way better.

on an 86 4 runner dont they have a center console too?

you could do a fairly trick install on it too.

i had an 86 if i remeebr right i mounted it in place of the ashtray , used some good velcro held up real good .

the problem with that was getting the correct cb to fit .
another cool cb i have seen is the all in one mic /recevier one , if you dont plan on getting out to the moon with it , it is great , and when its not being used for trail rides andsuch unplug it and put it i nthe glove box .

Pocket

Those pockets are EXTREMELY cheap from Toyota. They only charged me $6 for mine.
