97 4R SR5 4x4 5spd.
Installed the Toytec 2"BL yesterday and realized the stick shift now hits the body. I removed the center console and there is a removable piece with 2 rubber shift boots. The cutout where the bigger boot is for the shifter just isnt big enough. 2nd gear actually touches the body as well. There isnt much clearance on the removable piece to cut out metal otherwise I will lose my screw holes it seems like. I left the gear in first or second when I did the lift and I noticed when I was all finished, the stick was completely stuck and would not move at all. I took apart the center console and it freed up. What do other folks do?

300$ is more than the lift. Ouch. Looks like their products are very high quality but the price seems to reflect that haha. Toytec made no mention of this and neither did my research.
Has anyone tried just cutting? I am going to give that a shot.

96 4Runner 3.4 4x mt with 1" body lift. I took the rubber boot off so i could see where it hit (mostly 2nd and a little 4th in my case) and cut that part just enough. Gotta leave something for the boot to be retained by.

Oh I had to cut wwaaaay more than that and drill new holes. And it still is a little funny going into second so I am going to trim more. Had to screw with the leather part above that too. Grr

Only a 1" lift here, but what I did was drill a second set of holes in that cover to move the whole plate backward by about 1/2 inch or so. Still seals around the edges, and moves it enough to not have issues.
Well, I did start to have some slight issues again at around 210K miles, but I replaced the trans mount and that fixed it - it had apparently sagged a bit over the years.
