Sounds pretty cool btw. The shop suggested keeping it single exhaust cuz the spare tire makes it a pain so I'm happy with that. Overall, the sound is more throaty but not too loud.

Outa curiosity how did it effect your gas mileage?

 

Which flowmaster did you get ..from where and cost.

 

I diden't take note back then about gas milage...I can tell you that i get approx 18-23 mpg now.

Its all post catalytic....you shouldent have any performance differences with MPG
if anything it should go up

I'm thinking about getting a single muffler with two pipes...is that what you got? Or just a single muffler single pipe?

I have heard that the spart tire can be a hard thing to work with. Is the one muffler enough to get the true feeling of the Flowmaster power? If not, I would be happy to move or REmove the spare and either mount it somewhere else or hope I never get a flat!

Glad you like it...I have heard TONS of good things about Flowmaster. My buddy has a complete dual setup, dual mufflers and dual pipes. That thing sounds AWESOME! I want mine to sound like that but I don't know if one, I can afford it and 2 if I can fit it in there.

Anyway...

Have fun going through tunnels and small subdivisions with that new ROAR!

I got the single muffler and pipe and it gives the true feeling just fine (loud enough) The shop said they could do dual and work around the spare BUT it would be an additional expense and I really wouldn't be gaining a thing except for cosmetic.

 

Can u post some sound clips? Like when it idle, start, during the driving.

Like you said, the dual setup would only be for cosmetic (the dual tip single muffler).

I think I will just end up doing a single Flowmaster 40 muffler and maybe use my existing pipe and just get a new tip to save some money. What do you think about that? How much do you think I would save by using my old pipe and just getting a new muffler/tip?

That's exactly what I did. Toyota uses good pipe so if there's no rust or holes just use the stock tube. As far as how much you would save I really don't know. I didn't save very much at all but I don't care, the shop I trust and they are great people so I didn't worry about saving $20 or $30 by going to someone I don't know.

You allways have the option of adding the second pipe for duals but I think you'll find going single is gonna be good.

 

I got a single flowmaster with dual tips for 210. The shop just worked around the spare. What size tip do you have (if you changed your tip)?
