Does a replacement exist? Is there such a thing? The original ones are fused/welded/homogenized with the old TREs and the replacements did not come with jam nuts. None of the auto parts stores have any idea where I can find one and Home Despot doesn't have anything close to that size.

Any idea what that thread is so I can order one from McMaster or something?

I buy them from my Local Toyota dealer.

In the Great Salt belt even with Never Seize they still won`t move..

I keep spares for when I go for Front end alignment just in case

sleeves as well just in case

 

Well, I called a dealer in CA because they were still open (I'm in KY) and found that the part number for these is 90170-20003. This doesn't help me, since the closest Toyota dealership that has them is apparently in Georgia and I need a vehicle Monday morning.

But, I found that the Moog ITREs come with the jam nut, so I guess I'm doing LBJs and OTREs and ITREs this weekend.

Anyway, make sure you order this stupid jam nut from Toyota if you plan on replacing TREs.

 

Or just order Moog Tie Rod Ends....

 

Moog OTREs don't come with the jam nut. None of the OTREs available at the big box part stores do.


I ended up doing ITREs too and am dropping it off for an alignment in a few minutes.
