My alternator died last week, guess 13 years was enough. I replaced it Friday night with a 130amp from Mr. Alternator. It bolted in & plugged in w/out any modifications. The whole swap took about 45 minutes. This would’ve been a good time to do the ISR mod or upgrade the wiring. However with rain on the way and hungry mosquitoes, I decided to just get my truck running again.

I’ve noticed my windows & wipers work better, even the rear window, which is notoriously slow, is a tad quicker. The truck seems to run better overall too.

The cost was $210 plus $10 shipping to Florida. Locally, a 60 amp alternator is $238 at the dealer and $165 at parts stores. For about $60 more than the parts stores and a few less than the dealer, you can have double the stock output. Now I can return to the other projects; sliders, spacers, finishing our kitchen.....
