inner tie rod

Have to first say thank you for all the great posts about repairs and mods. It has made repairs much easier.

I am just about finished with replacing a CV, tie rods, steering rack bushings, Sway bar kit and links for the front.

Just have a couple of questions. Cannot find how tight to get the inner tie rod to the steering rack. Any thread lock on the jam nut? Also, what should I use to top off the front diff.?

Thread locker is a good idea on the inner thread...Get the inner rod as tight as you can by hand with big wrench/cresent wrench(no cheater bars)..the old retaining washer needs to be flattened out and then "peined-over" the inner rod flats...this keeps the inner from ever becomming loose...Install boot and don't forget to either replace clamps or use steel zip ties..or hose clamps...If dirt gets onto inner shaft it could hurt the rack seal=leak=new rack....

x2. the washer that you're bending over the tie rod will keep it from backing out. i used blue threadlocker, too.

By top off the front diff do you mean which oil to fill it with, assuming you lost a bit replacing the axle. If the oil in the diff is over 1 year old then I would drain it and refill with fresh. Mine specifies 75W90 gear oil. Capacity is about 1.2 litres if I remember correctly.
