I'm exhausted!

I just wanted to post to say that I got a new exhaust put on yesterday. I went with a muffler called the Xcelerator, which is almost identicle to the magnaflows that some of you are using, 14 inch all aluminized welded case, straight thru design, two layers of packing, blah, blah, blah. I'm very happy with the sound and the gain in performance. I also had a 3 1/2 inch slash cut tip installed. I can get some pics if anyone is interested...

I was driving home like this
hehehe...

Sounds good. Nothing like the sound of a custom exhaust to put a smile on your face.

If you get a vid or sound byte of it, I can put it up on my exhaust page later.

I will add these two of mine from last Saturdays run to the page when I get time.

The Magnaflow is pretty deep.
Is yours similiar?

Corey-

I can't get those two links to work, should I try right click, save as...

Anyway, yes it is pretty deep. It actually sounds a little more like that Jardine clip than your Magnaflow. Most likely the difference is the engines, though right? 3.0 vs 3.4.

I would love to get a vid or sound clip to you, I just don't have the means to, my digicam doesn't record sound. Is there any way to hook a non-digital video camera up to my computer?

Hi Jayson, try right clicking them and save.
I was able to click on them though and get it to work.

Yes, mine is the 3.0

The old video cameras I think you have to have a special video capture card in your PC to make them work.

I have a nice Sony Hi-8 I bought back around '91, but it won't work with the PC unless I have a vid capture board which I don't have.

Then you need to take a nap mister!

Good to hear you are pleased. I bet you're even more glad you did the intake stuff now, too.

Welcome to the club, Jayson!

Kool deal.

I'm ready for a muffler also but it has to be the quietest - throatiest muffler possible so my wife does'nt hang me.

She drives the truck more than i do so i gotta be careful here.

I heard the exhaust clips and so far the magnaflow 18 i think is the quitest.

Please let me know somebody of the quietest performance one you know of?

Also what's the koolest looking exhaust tip out there?

Here! Here! Yes, my dual Borla cat-back is the best mod I have done also. I couldn't image the vehicle without it!

A blue 350Z ricer pulled up to me at the stoplight. He wanted to race. You know the scenario, two busy lanes merging into one lane. I started out like I was normally leaving the light (slow, steady) and then I punched it! Wa-Baaaaaah. the Runner literally dipped backwards when the torque hit the rear wheels. I won the race up to 60 then the torque band petered out and that blue Z had to slide in front of me at the lane merge driving through the shoulder gravel.

His nice shiny Z got 'dusted' by a 4000 lb. pig with 4WD!

Ah, the feeling!

Having a rig that sounds good, not to mention gaining performance, definitely makes the "kewl" factor go up!

I'm just glad you made it home with your rig like that. You should have that looked at and see if they did more than just install a muffler!

Me want

Don't forget the fuzzy dice to go on the rear view mirror, a chain license plate and the crown air freshener for the dash.

Here's the thread that has a few pictures in it.

The exhaust and my lift have been my two favorite mods. Abg Jim and ALBPM have both heard it as well as some others, they might be able to give you a less-biased opinion about it. Its definately not the quietest option, but sounds really good, nice and low, kinda raspy, but not like a pi$$ed coffe can of bees...

I may change the tip out sometime, as it is really starting to rust...

I would weld them, makes them harder to steal, them being so popular and all.

but if it has more of that raspy sound then the magnalfow does I may go with magnaflow.

Anybody know a shop in Houston I can buy either the Xcellerator or the Magnaflow #11255? As always, I want to do the work so I just need to purchase it. hehe.
