Why would someone yank out a motor with "about 6,000 to 7,000 Miles on the engine with transmission"? And if there is only 7000 miles on it why is the exhaust so rusty?

Very suspicious!!!

That 1st gen is beautiful, sounds like it was really taken care of. I wonder what his reserve is? He'll never get the money he put in back out, but thats not why we're in this hobby, right?

Whoa, that 1st gen is awesome!

As for the 3.4, maybe they're parting out a stolen truck? If I was a car thief that's what I'd do. Part it out and ship it across the country.

I just reviewed some training videos for some student employees that will be patrolling our campus parking lots. It covered some of the easy ways to break into a car as well as what ends up happening to them.

Didnt' mention ebay specifically but can you think of a better middle man to spread stolen parts across the country relatively fast?
I'm not too worried about someone on the wrong side of the law reading this because Ebay is so prevalent that it most likely is an option already.

My dad had an 87 runner. It was beautiful. He took great care of it... it was like his 5th kid. He was very attached... that's why I didn't get it my 16th birthday (as promised when i was 5)... I was cool with it though as my camry was reliable enough... It was stolen in a mall parking lot. Eventually it was found. Stripped. My dad got the 2nd gen in it's place... and soon enough it became mine ( I wrecked the camry while delivering pizza... and my dad didn't like the runner getting dirty from his work). I'm looking to someday get a first gen, restore it and give it to him. I figure it would make a nice gift.

if it doesn't load right click on it and click show picture.

Although i do love ebay I know there has to be a lot of stolen stuff on there. It makes it very easy to gain 100% profit off something without having to answer where you got the stuff. I've thought about this regarding a lot of teh "new in box" stuff. To me it's like why would someone buy something and then never open it. Hmmm ? Oh well as long as it's cheap for me.

I asked the guy a bunch of questions a couple of days ago. Basically he said he would "see" if he had the ECU for the engine, didn't answer why it came out of the car. Basically he acted like anything you want off that truck he'll deal for. He did say the engine was running when pulled but doesn't everyone say that?
