Unhappy Idle dampner help???

This is on a 22RE. The part, I think you call it the idle dampner, with the spring that when you let off the accel pedal catches the throttle and brings it down to idle slowly, seems to be sticking. I have tried to clean it, lube it while still on the truck. Has anyone else had this problem? Do I need to remove it and clean it, and if so what is the best way? If it can't be cleaned, where should I get a new one from? Last but not least what is the correct name for that part. Right now it is not letting the truck come back down to true idle, it is holding it up way to high (not sure how high I don't have a tach).
Thanks for the help,
Fins

Yup, sounds like the dashpot. Cleaned mine once and eventually threw it away.
