Just got a 96 4runner Limited a few weeks ago, and I've been noticing the Emergency Brake idiot light has been popping on occasionally when I'm going up on ramps at more than half throttle. It also came on when I made a quick stop. Does this mean something, or is it just Toyota's way of telling me to slow the hell down

 

Your brake fluid is getting low. As the fluid sloshes around the float gets low enough to kick the light. It would also be a good time to check the brake pads.

 

Good catch, thanks! I'll add some tomarrow, mabey bleed my brakes while I'm at it. Just checked the brakes while my truck was on the lift getting new CVs today, they look good.
