My truck squeals and I want it to stop. Sounds kind of like a bad bearing...metal on metal sound. It only happens when it's under load though so I can't trace it while parked in the driveway. I can notice it most when climbing a mountain pass, it sounds like its coming from the passenger side but thats only judging by the echo off of the meridian. I have changed my belts, idlier pulley, the clutch is new so its not the needle or throw out bearing, and its not a brake squeal. does anybody have any ideas on where i should look next?

 

Take a look at your belts. Look at the side that rides on the pulleys.

 

Sorry. I just read your post completely. Okay new belts. Check the tension on the new belts.

 

Is this happening under load or at high RPM's...You can be under load at lower RPM or does this happen or only when screaming up a long hill? If it's at high RPM it maybe a bearing on the alt or belts not being tight enough?

 

Its the same squeal I had with the old belts, I have adjusted the belts a couple of times to make sure its not them. I'm worried it could be my A/C compressor
