I need a BEER!!

O.K. We are finishing up with the hack job my friend’s mechanic friend left us in. He ripped out the old engine and left it. So we are putting the new block in. We are set to stab it and were going to do so last night when we noticed a cable looked odd. It is the cable for the Air Flow Meter. Instead of unclipping it from the unit, he took out the two screws on the bracket and ripped it out. So now we cannot plug it into the AFM. A new AFM is 500 bucks!! The mechanic was doing it for free as a favor so he won't pay for it. Is there anyway to do a quick fix? I can't afford 500 bucks for this part. Our local junk yard usually sells things for 20% less than a new part (jerk) so I don't think that is a great option either. Any advice would be beyond helpful. Thanks for all the help as usual guys!!

I got a now one at a yard (mine died to a mechanic also) for $150. Shop around. Don't pay $500!

No I tried some in Farmington, Kirtland, and Aztec, while Lon looked for the part. I should know toady if he has that part and the price of it. I also tried Basin here in Dgo. I didn't remember about the one by Wild Cat so I'll give them a shot too. I hope to have her running tonight, but we'll see. Thanks for the help!!
