What brand was it? My friends truck had a set of McGards and the locking lug nut and socket just broke in pieces. We were in process of switching rims and tires. We removed the broken lug at the tire repair shop.
I now own the Gorilla brand locking lug nuts. It is definitely better in construction to remove and install on my truck.

I concur on the wheel locks sucking thought. I broke one last winter in 10° weather changing a tire, all b/c some tire tech in a hurry while rotating my wheel nicely impact wrenched those b-tards down. Man was I pissed. I got lucky it only cracked the outer rim off of the nut, so with the key in an impact wrench the shop was able to get them off. I won't use them again, the impression I got from the guys at the shop was that they barely slow a theaf down, basically if they want them wheels they'll get them.
