I added some extra lighting to the cargo area (LEDs)

So I started to get alittle sick and tired of looking around in the dark in my rear cargo area... so I decided to do something about it. Being resourceful as always, I starting looking around for ideas. I work at a Harley Davidson dealership and harley makes tons of junk for these bikes... everything you could think of; even LED light pods. *BING -> light bulb! * (http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US) so I was talking to the one parts guy who is in charge of warrenty by chance... and it just so happened, we had a set of "broken" lights which were up for detroying (yes, on certain parts, if theyre warrentied, we must "destroy" them... thank goodness Im in charge of this, and many things dont get "destroyed" they end up being used by myself so.. I "destroyed" the set of LEDs... aka, they went home with me, and the box smashed. (i like my job at this point) so looking the set over, I realized that the "broken" light had a crushed wire, and took about 2 minutes to fix - awesome! and so the install began: it was nothing special so I wont go into the details. But I wired the hot wires to the hot wire on the stock cargo light hot wire. the LEDs do not draw very much amperage and so Im not worried about drawing too much. anyhow... the kit comes with 3 lights, 1 main (with some sort of "brain") and 2 secondary lights. what is nice about these lights is that they automatically turn off after 5 minutes... so if i screw up and forget... boom, they turn off. once again. awesome. each pod has 6 white LEDs and they are very very bright. I mounted the "brain" right by the stock light and the 2 other lights on the pillars by the rear hatch. I apologize for the bad pictures, but the lighting is hard to correct on the digital camera. So i popped off the pillars and ran the wiring through and connected everything up and it works great. Much more light than is needed. They all have to be turned on each which is kinda annoying, but its better than stock. the kit is alittle pricey, but if anyone is looking for a kit that will light upthe interior than i would def. suggest this kit.
I am thinking of ordering 2 extra lights and hooking them up just below the "oh ˟˟˟˟˟" handles in the back for the passengers to get in and hold on with. This way it would give the passengers the ability to have some nice bright light.
anyway. if anyone would want more info just PM me. I can get the kit at 20% off too, which would be around $85. I can take some other pictures of the wire if wanted also, but it isnt anything special

Thats accually really slick...

when i first read through and u where talking LEDs... i thought u whwre just going to ebpunching holes and pushing the little diodes through the hole. But the case is nice..

I was accually thinking of copying what buick did on the Rivera that my dad had and putting LED's in weird places to illuminate random ÅÅÅÅ... just for ÅÅÅÅs and giggles.. like illuminate the buttons for the windows in the back seat, etc.

i'm planning on getting one or two of these from autolumination, and running the cabling under the carpet i intend to install in the camper top. can't be aimed like the ones in bajataco's rig, which is a bummer, but i think they'll do. i was gonna go for one amber and one white, or one white 24-LED and another white with fewer for some adjustability.

yeah, the lights arent moveable or pointable, but being LEDs, they are very defused so they put out a nice glow.

I really want to do that in the footwells but am a little nervous about finding the power wire to the door switches.

its not hard with a cheapy multimeter... or you can stop by the toyota dealer and ask a tech to read through a wire diagram quick to get the color code for the wires
