Husky Liner slippage

If you purchased Husky Liners (like me) prior to the "nipple-ized" version, you may have some issues with them moving around due to the smooth underside.

A quick and cheap remedy for this is to get some anti-slip matting used underneath rugs for keeping them from moving (like on tile, wood flooring, or linoleum). You can get this stuff at your local dollar store or Walmart, Target, etc. Just cut it to size and place it under your liners.

Of course the better method is to get the new Husky Liners, but with all these mods I've been reading about, who has the money for a second pair of liners!

You know what I was thinking...velcro might work even better. Put the "harder" side of the velcro on the matt. Many times the velcro comes with adhesive on the other side. Maybe just stick that to the back of the liner and velcro them down! That way they won't move at all! Just a thought! :fireman:

I actually tried that first, but I didn't have much success.

I think you can get different sizes of velcro (where the hook/loops are bigger). I may have been using some that was too small to get a good hold of the carpet. Also, I live in an area where it gets very hot and humid in the summer, so the backing started to lose it's "gumminess" after a couple months into the summer.

I used the "industrial" velcro to secure my sub down in my old car because all of my "spirited" driving broke the metal setup they had at first. It seemed to work pretty well. The non-skid idea seems like a good one too.

Yeah, I would think that "bigger" velcro would be the best! Maybe some contact cement instead of the adhesive. Just a suggestion! :fireman:

Testing...

I had an idea here. Lets see if this works.
I just made a "Great Tips" page because I liked the tip here for the Husky's, even though mine don't slide on me, and I have the pre nubber ones.

We can have a page with "tips" set up on it that will be linked from the "YotaTech on the web" page.

A person can view the tips from this page, and actualy post from it, as long as they are logged into the forum.

In fact that is exactly what I just did. I clicked on the reply button from the page that is on my server, and not from the forum.

Is this a thumbs up idea, or a thumbs down idea?
Need a little feed back for stuff like this.

Corey, I think that it is a great idea. I think it would be really cool if there were a link on the home page to get to! I looked, but couldn't find one, but maybe I missed it if you put it there. I think tips are a good thing, and a page for them would be super! :fireman:

I bought the mats that you put under your office chair. Tried the velcro thing by itself and didn't work since I have 2 big dogs. The cargo mat slide around. I velcroed the chair mat to the husky mat with a bunch of industrial velcro. Will post pics tonight.
