Does the rod that sticks out at right angles to the handle (the piece that hits the switch) unscrew? 'Cause that's the only way I can see to rotate the handle far enough to get the barrel end of the cable out.

But mine doesn't want to unscrew so I figured I'd better ask before I try to force it.

 

Never mind.

I didn't wanna force it even if it is supposed to unscrew, so I filed a notch in the tube to get the barrel end out.

 

no its press fit in, and usually breaks when you try and get it out. I usually order one when i order the brake cable.
