yes, i will be installing it myself. they are letting me exchange it luckily but there is a $30 difference between the two that i had to pay.

i've *heard* toyota started producing the 22RTE in '85 to a limited extent, so there may be a few of them. you never know with these trucks sometimes. they were definitely out there in '86 though

kind of like some '95 3rd gen(NOT tacoma) trucks with the 3.4 V6, and some '84 pickups with the L52 instead of a G52 tranny are out there
