homemade center console
after doing a bucket seat swap i decided i needed a center console. i looked at tuffy and other companys but decided i didnt want to shovel out 100+ on a console. i took some old shelving leftover in the attic, bought some vinyl and this is what i came up with.
complete with trap door and camo bottom!!!
so what do you guys think?

I'm thinking I like that a lot. Nice job!
I'm in the same boat, having just swapped my bench for bucket seats. I like yours much better than some of the homemade consoles or Ammo can consoles I've seen and the price is much better than the aftermarket offerings.
Yup, I think I'll be stealing your idea dood!

I bought and am very happy with the Tuffy box for Samurais. Works great with the crawler, locks extremely securely (important with an open vehicle). Gray works well with the gray interior. Room for a cupholder in front of it -the cupholder it comes with is too wide... <:-(

What year did those seats come from? How hard was it to make the brackets if any. Could you pm me some close ups on those seats, they look really good.

hey thanks for all the replies. as for the height it fits me perfect at 6' and it looks taller because its really fluffy padding. the seats are out of an 88 or 89 4runner sr5 that i got at a junk yard for like 75 bucks. because its from a 2 door 4 runner the passenger seat took a little work because it is the type that folds forward and slides. really just had to drill a hole and mount a bolt from the inside out. i'll take some pictures for you tomorrow. the cup holders are so nice. they're deep so they keep cans and stuff from bobbeling and it actually fits a bottle!! also they dont sit infront of the A.C. (toyota engineering at its worst)
