Hi-lift mounting question

Why in the directions do they say that the Hi-lift needs to be placed on the passenger side?

Thanks
John

Just a hunch. I recently saw a Yota that was hit head-on by a semi. The Warn 8000 on a multi-mount that was bolted to the right rear fenderwell went through the cab and 50 feet down the highway. There was no one on the pass side thankfully.

Another thought, if you had to change a tire at the side of the road, if it was mounted on the pass side you would be safer from traffic while you got the jack out...

Last idea - cuz if the directions didn't say to mount it somewhere specific some idiot would mount it on the steering column... <grin>
