So I just bought my wife a 00 4runner Limited. It didn't come with a Fob so I did some googling to find out if my my 4runner came with Keyless entry and if so which one to buy. A website that sells them gives directions to tell which fob you have.

Before I purchased the Fob I was able to get the system to go into "programming" mode one time. But of course now that I have the remote I can't get the car to respond and go into programming mode. I just tried disconnecting the battery tonight but that still didn't work.

I am pretty sure that all 00 Limited's came with Keyless. It also shows a security system, it has the led in the center of the dash next to the passenger seat belt icon.

Any suggestions on how to get this thing into programming mode?
