help with problem
K.. here is the situation. I was driving down the industrial roads with my friends, and they pointed out to me the huge puddle that was on the side of the road. So, after looking along the side and seeing that it looked ok i went into the puddle. Only problem is that it was a small ditch and I damn near rolled my truck. Anyways, thats not the prob. When i got out of this water (Thank god) I hit a storm drain thingy.... at about 15 km/h. Once back on the road, my front right side tire made a very high squeeling noise. It almost sounded like metal on metal. So we pulled off to the side of the road and i got my friend to drive my truck slowly as i listened to the front tire and all it did was make a very loud grinding noise... then i started to drive home....It did this still for about 5 minutes or so, then it only occured when i would turn. Once i almost reached home it went away....... Now, it just does it if i stop quickly..... im guessing its something to do with my brakes.... but im not sure. I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to if i should worry or not.
BTW, it doesnt effect the driving at all, it still drives well.....
thanks,
dan

It could have been a small piece of gravel stuck between the brake rotor and dust shield. I had that happen once. It was a terrible sound but all I found was a tiny rock about the size of a grain of rice. Perhaps you had something similar and it just fell out on its own.
Take a good look down there for mangled metal just to be sure. If the noise went away its probably ok.
