Help me buy a 'new' 2000 4Runner
I am looking at buying a 2000 4Runner (2.7L DOHC EFI 16-Valve I4 Engine, Manual, 99282 mi)
What are the biggest things I should investigate when I go look at this?
Frame/underbody rust/rot
timing belt
anything else 4Runner specific that might be a problem, especially as it approaches 100,000 miles? Let me know.

Might be good to know just where this vehicle lives .
Are you able to do this work yourself??
17 years old with out knowing if it received tender loving care or has seen nothing but Quicky Mart oil changes .
Start at the bottom and look at everything

How much for? Be inquisitive on the history, accident, damage, parts replacement, etc. If price is lower than blue book value, be cause for concern.
I would think that's hard to find with that low mileage.
And if you're not the fix-it type, as long as you got a mechanic you can trust that's good too.
Do take it for a spin and see how it feels (and if you get any lights that come on while you're driving).

I'm snoopy, so here's the ad: http://www.donedealmotors.com/vehicl...ma-id-15792370
Seems to be priced way too dearly for what it is, IMO. But it's a dealership asking price, they could probably go down 3 grand or so, which still leaves it pretty overpriced.

Nice, pavement queen look. One owner pampered. Ha.
Tow hitch on a 4cyl? Be better off with a V6 unless its just for daily driving. Funny how they like to emphasize the 4wd aspect and how it can go anywhere. Yeah, if its powerful enough. Ads...yeah, its inflated...a lot. Mileage is great but I got mine at 145k and insurance covered me for 7800, which is somewhat ok. That was in Philly...a decade ago.
Depends on how harder it is to find better price or how bad the buyer wants it.
