i never took the line off the fuel rail..i connected it right back to the fuel filter(the opening more towards the rear of the truck) maybe i put the new fuel filter on backwards? I dont think that would be the problem, because the gas is getting to the fuel rail...it is spraying right where the line meets the rail.

And what is the vapor return line? I have one line going into the fuel rail more towards the front of the vehicle, and a vacuum line that is towards the rear. Where should that line be connected to? i may have connected it to the wrong spot..
