help 22re idle

I have a 91 truck with a 22re and manual trans, last week i had the alternator and the fuel filter replaced. It ran fine for 1 day but the next day it died and would not re start, i took it back to the mechanic and he said it was a vacuum line, it starts fine now but after it warms up the idel gets down to below 500 and dies at stop lights, it always restarts. I took it back and the mechanic says it is an intake gasket problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated, the truck has 130,000 miles and is stock, it ran perfect before i took it in. thanks casey

adjust the idle screw on the throtle body. idle for a 22re should be at 900 i think.

mine was doing that too. check pcv valve on top of valve cover and plug wires. my pcv valve was sticking closed and idling horribly. try that,

i got it fixed

i figured out what the problem was, i had a hole in the hose going from the mass air flow sensor to the intake, i replaced the whole thing with a universal hose from autozone and it runs like a champ, i am going to call the mechanic and find out exactly how he determined my intake gasket was sucked in. also i have the truck for sale in the classified section. i hate to sell it but it will not pull my new trailer very good and i do not whant to tear it up. thanks for the replys
