the directions say to use their diagram, but i was wondering if they are like the freeway blaster horns, so all you have to do is plug them in and thats it.

3.4,
Which Hella horns? If the Supertones, I installed them w/o the relay and I've never had a problem. Just a matter of splicing wires.
If the air horns, no clue. As the previous poster said, a search would probably answer your question.

I installed my airhorns with the supplied relay. I figure they must have given it to me for a reason. But it also came with a horn button, which I didn't use. So you figure, that the kit can be installed on cars that never had horns. Thats prob, why it came with the relay and the horn button. But I decied to use the relay.

If they are the Freeway Blasters then you don't need a relay. One prong to power (same as stock) and the other prong to ground (the bolt that holds the horn on the body.

You don't need the relay if you get rid of the stock horns. Whether they are air horns or just regular horns, you use the existing wiring.
Now, you would ONLY need a relay if you wanted to keep your existing horns where they are, and add a 2nd set, for a total of 4 horns. Most don't do this.
More info on my site, look for the air horn write-up.

A 14 gauge wire that loops through the steering wheel is long enough to be grossly undersized.
