Has anyone fixed the spare tire clunking issue on their 3rd gen?

I've got this same prob...just started last week, even though the spare hasn't been touched in about a month. Two questions then...why did it never do this before and why now, what exactly is loose? Pics? And more importantly, why only when it's cold? Maybe my prob is different...kinda sound like the rear doors isn't closed or something? A very, very loud thunk/rattle...goes away after 10-15min of driving...

I thought for a long time that it was my spare but it continued even after I removed it. I found it was the passenger side panhard bar mount. I could get the panhard to shift front to back very slightly by hand although the bolt was tight. I removed the bolt, greased it and installed a lock washer(split ring) against the mount and the nut. Problem solved. However after my 1" body it's very difficult to get the winch handle to line up and my spare now wobbles due to the extra inch above it. I'll probably stuff a piece of wood between the top of the spare and the hitch...any other ideas??

omg, how did you find pics of my illegitmate love children!?!?

for the rest of you, i took a pic of the location of the infamous piece of metal i am talking about. however, it its next to impossible to take a pic of the actual metal piece because of the location. well, ok, i didnt want to get dirty laying on my back since i busted out my michael jackson "thriller" jacket just in time for the mild LA winter

pic attached.
