Guys im curious 4WD

Hey guys I have a quick question. Yesterday it was raining pretty bad, so I just wanted to screw around so I shifted into 4WD HI on my 2000 SR5. The light didn't come on for the 4WD and I was going about 40MPH. but it felt like it was in 4wd. So I drove straight for a little bit and finally it came on. So anyway I am driving put it back into 2WD, all the sudden the light kicks off and it actually disengages from 4wd, I have NEVER been able to have it disengage while driving before. I have always had to slow or stop or backup or turn in order for it to kick out. So I did it about 4 more times and it went immediately into 4wd and then when I popped it out and went straight it immediately came out. Is there anything I should worry about? Why did it take so long to kick on the first time? Why is it coming out while driving now where before it wouldn't?

Thanks guys

Mine does the same thing that you are describing, I think it's normal. When I shift into 4-H on the fly, the 4WD Display panel blinks for a few seconds and then kicks into 4WD. When I push the button to turn 4WD off, it usually disengages pretty quickly and goes back into 2WD. The engagement always seems a little longer than the disengagement. Also, it always turns off on the fly for me.

Yea but it only did this in the rain, and only did it once the other day, it hadn't ever taken that long before. And remember I have the stick so its a direct connection with the transfer case as opposed to the button... right?

Thanks guys.
